2016 Cigar of the Year – Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX

Press Release

On this weeks episode of The Ash Holes, we named some of our favorite cigars for this year. Each of us had a list of 5 cigars we thought were the best of 2016, and there was one that made all three of our lists. The Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX, a cigar coming to us from brand owner & president Anthony Serino and world renowned Cuban Master Blender Omar González-Alemán, which is made at the La Corona Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. La Corona is most well known for making the HR Habano line of cigars for Hirochi Robaina. They have earned the top spot as The Ash Holes 2016 Cigar of the Year.

Serino Cigar Company made their debut at this years IPCPR trade show and many people took a great liking to the brands offerings. The cigar we chose as #1, the Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX, is the companies strongest blend. It features an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 Oscuro Maduro wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and a special combination of Nicaraguan fillers from Esteli and Jalapa. They arrive to us in beautiful black lacquered boxes of 20 handmade cigars in cellophane adorned with detailed primary and foot bands.

The cigar offers a lot in the flavor department, showing off naturally sweet notes of dark chocolate, earth, black pepper and leather. Its quality, taste and consistency has earned high ratings in multiple cigar publications and blogs across the country. We felt that because of this, the Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX deserves to be crowned The Ash Holes 2016 Cigar of the Year.

We want to congratulate the Anthony Serino, Carson Serino, Omar González-Alemán, the La Corona Factory and the rest of the Serino family for crafting such a fantastic line of premium hand made cigars.
